October 22, 2016 was a windy day. Rick went out back to Webster Park and ripped on his 4.8 and 4.2 in cold and blustery conditions……in a wetsuit…….for a couple hours. Here is a small sample of his time on the water. My camera batteries quit……Rick didn’t. Enjoy
New Vid: Jason’s November Disaster Session.
Jay hit the road for Buffalo on the anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald to ride some big Lake Erie waves at Woodlawn, while a new local disaster raged nearby (the old Bethlehem Steel building fire) see his description. Great strapless riding Jay!

So Rochester Windsports fancies itself to be of the Rochester and Finger Lakes region…….admittedly, that’s a stretch when it gets much further south and east of Geneva on Seneca Lake. As this video shows, windsurfing (and kiting for that matter) is alive and well with a good group keeping the torch lit on Cayuga Lake. I’d love to get to ride with these guys sometime. Until then, enjoy this great drone footage.
New Pics: Rick Windsurfing Webster Park 10.22.16
Saturday October 22, things got a little gnarlier than forecast, and H2O Authority Rick was the only rider that got out at this difficult launch. He sailed his 4.8, then 4.2, and called it quits when the winds became too much for that. Check out the GALLERY our carve on over to the Photo page.

An October nuker here, from 2015. They drive from Toronto and Montreal when we send them WSW winds across the lake. These conditions are unbelievable! That’s a lake, not an Ocean.

The riding has been nuts on the South shore of Lake O. the past few days, and here’s a really nice video of the kites on the North shore near Kingston, Ontario. Nic Chapleau makes great vids. Check it out:
