Rather epic day on Erie today. I hooked into what I perceived to be a 10 footer. I think the deep trough made it appear this high. Nonetheless a peak at this height on a lake is pretty astounding. The drop was messy and bumpy and felt like a Makaha drop. Very steep. I was fortunate enough to keep the kite in the air as I raced toward it by flopping it left and right. Hope others had an epic sesh.
Yes I believe you must been on a wave that big!we were up in Hamburg and enjoyed some big ,fun ,challenging conditions as well !was logo high on the big ones!
With the Fx as it was, I have no doubt about 10 foot swells. It’s been ages, but I’ve been in that and Erie definitely dishes up that kind of stuff.
Sadly, it worked out to be too cold for the amount of wind we had here (my judgment). Sailable, but when it’s in the 30’s my enthusiasm wanes unless it’s 5.0 or better. For 7.5? Nuh-uh.
