Beautiful evening at Lodi Point today, mild moderately powered-up 7.5 conditions from 4:30-6 PM, sunny, warm water, nice for a mid-summer day. Lodi Point is definitely an under-rated spot – definitely a go-to spot on a NNW to NNE.
The weekend is hard to call; mixed forecasts because we have a weak nor’easter for the weekend. Typically, Erie is weak on a nor’easter, so I wouldn’t look to that (years of going to Presque Isle, and nor’easters never produced – as I was told they wouldn’t). So Sunday is the stronger of the two days, mainly because that’s when the foul weather comes through. Thursday evening, Big O wasn’t working on Saturday; this AM, Saturday was looking OK…and now the Fx is generally down. NWS is still calling 10-15, big board surf-sailing and big kites. At this time, can’t make a call….if you go to the Big O on Saturday, bring insurance.
SAT – Very uncertain, might be a nice light wind day, especially big-board surf sailing and big kites. But take something else to do.
SUN – Squalls and nor’easter, mild (not like fall-spring 5.0-3.5 nor’easters). Hey, it’s warm, what’s a little rain when you’re already wet?
