Just heard that Don Delaney is home recovering from numerous injuries resulting from a mishap while kiting at Montana Beach. I don’t know the particulars other than it occurred during a self launch attempt and that he was slammed pretty hard fracturing ribs and vertebrae! Don is a seasoned wind enthusiast and always a joy to be around. I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing him a speedy recovery. Hopefully someone can pipe in with details so the sailing community can learn from his unfortunate experience!
I might also add, that kiting and windsurfing can be dangerous and although it is quite rare, accidents do happen.
