Sorry to have delayed this session review.  Life has been busy and I have been under the weather.

Whoa.  Where to begin.  What a perfect day to play out in the world with friends.  So many windsurfes from far and wide, and same fro the kiteboarders I assume.  Launching from the park with Geneva in the background and nothing but bouncing kites and sails in between was a treat.

The crew from the Rochester area was well represented, and as so often happens on days like this, the contingent from the Cayuga Windsurfing Club was well represented as well.  No offense, but I am always happy to see them as the group has a lower mean age than the Roch. group.  That means nothing now, but for a guy like me, if my  body can still be doing this in 15 years it gives me some folks that I can still ride with.  Met up with Vlad, Suan, Cristian, and Sharon among others.

I’m sure I saw better than 25 kites on the water and at least 15 windsurfers.  The stoke was high. I rigged a 6.5 initially, then a 5.8, and then back to 6.5.

Some highlights were seeing some of the Rochester crew like Bill, Ken, Dan, and Rick on the water.  I hollered to Bill that it was like old times as we raced along together.  Ken had the lake to himself early and it was good to see him planing, and knowing he must be smiling ear to ear.  I passed The GOAT (Trumansburg’s goat farmer, pretty darn good kiter, and shaper of his custom board “The Goat”) Kevin and saw what looked like a retro bar and lines…nope….just some more custom home made gear from the guy so he can slash it just how he wants.  The Cayuga crew sure loves their Aerotech sails, tons of them on the water.  Suan has one of the more dialed in jibes around.  His sail flip and hang from the boom is quick and he planes out of so many jibes.  Scott and I had fun blasting around for a bit, and I had a fun reach with Joe breathing right down my neck the whole time just whispering in my ear.  Makes me nervous…..ha!  Keith Schneller is back baby!!!!!!!  Look for his new quiver of North sails.  Much respect to him too, he struggled through a couple years of trying to get back into but just not lining up forecast and equipment just right.  He’s got it all working now.

I wish I had my Gopro on when I first arrived, a bunch of the kiters were foiling and I am bummed to not have any footage or photo’s of those guys on the site yet.  Battery was dead  somehow.

Let’s do it again before the snow flies, okay?
