This video is up on the Home Page, but I am also placing it here. I sat on some good footage of Seneca Lake kiting and windsurfing for too long and almost a year after the last recording I finally editted it to create this video:
I could really go for some days like this!

Here’s hoping that this direct appeal to the Wind Gods – I admit, I’m a pagan wind worshipper – is effective!

That was awesome Doug! How do you shoot those ‘rear view’ POV? Are you riding one handed?

Hey Rich,
Thanks! I used a GoPro helmet mount for most of the video, but I think you are wondering about maybe the mast mount and boom mount that you can see me in while I am windsurfing. For that I used a Flymount. It is very easy to use and is very tough. Not cheap but it is worth it if you ask me!

Hope we get to sail together again before the season is out. I know we talked about water start and jibe vids at Long Pond a few weeks back, Dasher’s ABC vids are the best, but they must police Youtube pretty well for pirated versions cause I cant find it. A pretty good Youtube channel is Get Windsurfing.
Later,
Doug

Oh, nice birds-eye view of getting slammed for the finale.

Yeah Geoff, that’s the reward for making it to the end. My son doesn’t ever get to see me fall, he liked it.

Nice, My wife actually got me the Hero Session Gopro as a gift recently. Half the fun is figuring out mounting locations and angles. I have a handlebar mount that opens wide enough for the boom but not the mast. Flymount looks like good stuff, thanks!
Yeah, I’ve watched the hell out of “Getwindsurfing”, they’re really good. Even if it is calm, warm ,turquoise water. I’ll keep an eye out for Dasher’s vids. Windsurfing is hard. I’m going to make a bumper sticker that says that.
Who knows? Maybe an AM, light wind, Longpond session this Sunday?

Wow! This is awesome. It like I’m sailing with you when I watch this! (of course I usually am). Really nice job editing. I can see two of us tag teaming both with cameras, that’d be cool. Keep up the good work.

Scott is my go to drag racing partner lately, especially in the 6.0 and over range.
Let’s do that multiple camera idea.
