I just bought a wing and am excited to try it out. Anyone else winging yet? My board hasn’t shipped yet and I’m getting anxious to get out there.

Hey Richard!
Yes, some of the local wind crew has gotten into wing and foil riding!! They are likely out at Montana Beach or Durand Beach right now as the wind has picked up nicely from the NW. If you like you can e mail me your cell number and I can add you to the local app/sms text message service we use to give on site condition reports to the community. Just go to the Contact form on this website. That will help you connect with the crew a lot quicker. Depending on wind direction you will see wings on the water on Ontario, Canandaigua, and Seneca Lakes, and maybe even Long Pond.
Hopefully one of the local wing riders will comment on this post.

I’m trying to get going on this also, just having trouble getting a wing or a foil as stocks are out at Slingshot. Has anyone played with a slingwing classic v1 vs a slingwing 2? Are the new innovations that much different? Does anyone have one of either I might be able to look at?
I think I will have to wait until the fall to get my foil.

I ordered mine from Mackite out of Michigan. I got the new Naish wing which was out of stock on Naish’s website. You are right, stock is low. Board and foil are delayed, so wont get to use it on anything but a SUP until the fall.

Does anyone think it would still be worth trying a SlingWing Classic v1, I can get one for $335 but don’t want to buy it if it is really outdated…

Tom and Richard, there are always wings out when the wind blows. It be good to come to one of the sites and talk directly to the guys. I windsurf foil and don’t wing but have tried it.
Four major local sites that the Rochester wingers and other sailors sail are: WNW to NE winds, Durand Beach and Montana Beach (Seabreeze Pier at Irondeqouit Outlet), SE to S winds, Seneca and Canandaigua Lakes, WSW wind Long Pond.
Also there is a Facebook page called Western NY Sailboard, Kiting etc, which have a number of followers, many from the Buffalo area but Rochester too.
Good Luck!
