ParticipantI left the expletive out (WT_W?).
Hi Gang!
I had stuff to do in Rochester several weeks ago, and dropped by Geneva on the way. Bunch of kiters out that day, didn’t look that great but it was TOW.
Very disappointing that in the last 3 months, winter wouldn’t go away. It never came, then it wouldn’t go away. We had snow 2 days last week, here in Ithaca.
Hopefully this Memorial weekend it’ll start up. Even if it’s not great…we need something, it’s TIME FOR THE WIND TO BLOW!!!
Hope all is well,
GEM

ParticipantGreat to hear from you! I have not yet had a session at Geneva this season, but I am very much looking forward to it. It’s been a great season so far with March posting record warm temperatures. Unfortunately, April was no warmer than March, but it still produced lots of sessions on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. This weekend is showing some possible south wind, so maybe it will be enough. See you out there!

ParticipantComplete Skunk-Job today. I talked with my buddy Stu in Pittsburgh, and it was a skunk there, too.
Chatting with Art while were were doing a Waiting for Godot routine, he wanted to know the URL for the Clark Point buoy in Seneca. If you didn’t know, this buoy (which is not yet in place for the season) is about 2 miles upwind of the Geneva sailing site, and about 1/3 mile offshore. So it gets wind very representative of what’s going on in the middle of the lake. Here’s the URL:
http://fli-data.hws.edu/clarkpt/seneca/
It’s usually in the water by now, so I presume COVID-19 has caused delays in getting it operational for the season.

ParticipantGeoff, Before I make a long drive I’m wondering how the parking situation was on the visitor center side of the lake given the holiday weekend and social distancing? Did they limit any parking? Thanks!
