Hey Geoff,
I may be able to help with this. Social media (Facebook) has a number of groups dedicated to “Old School” windsurfing. Posst about amazing finds like this abound. Quite a collectors market here and in Europe.
Members include Robert Masters, The Feeter brothers etc….. from the early days as well as pros from the 90’s.

Early 2000’s Specialized Limited Edition, SLE. Has some repaired dings that were well done. Board is water tight and feels solid. Comes with straps and bag and I can find a fin for it. Base plate not included.
Could be surfed and played with in the waves.

I see pics!!
Those were pretty good boards I think (based on old WindRider Magazine tests). Interesting that it only has that two bolt base as an attachment point. That would be fairly unique for the late 80’s I think. Stuff had started to standardize then (not masts…that would take another decade!!!).
If nobody wants the board, save the tw…[Read more]

Hi Mark,
I’m sorry you had issues with posting a photo or links. I had some updating that had to be done. Hopefully it solves the problem and you can post a picture. Try to edit (I don’t think you can after creation the post) to reply, or start another post about it and I can delete this one.

Hey Mark,
Sorry about the photo posting issue. I had not checked in on the forum in a bit with things being busy for me. I just did a bunch of behind the scenes updating that may solve your issue. A couple were significant. I have not tried to replicate what might be happening for you however.
Also, I just read your message about being add…[Read more]

Yeah Eric,
That is a good idea. I could add a “further afield” page for sites.
Lesson wise I would try to connect with the Cayuga Windsurfing Club, or CDGA Sailboard. They have the right gear and can answering rigging questions of your own gear as well.

Great information Bob!
As you’re aware I am near a return to the water from surgery and this sounds totally doable for all members of my family as I get going again.
This gear is all at CDGA Sailboard and available for rent.
Thanks for the post.
Cool cool cool!!!

The below was shared previously by long time Oswego area windsurfer Frank G. I couldn’t view it for some reason although the forum says it should be there. It is a resource we are lucky for. Reading what he says below, we are also lucky to still consider Frankiebob a windsurfing buddy.
Hope to see ya out there Frank.

Hey Richard!
Yes, some of the local wind crew has gotten into wing and foil riding!! They are likely out at Montana Beach or Durand Beach right now as the wind has picked up nicely from the NW. If you like you can e mail me your cell number and I can add you to the local app/sms text message service we use to give on site condition reports to t…[Read more]

Hi Liubov!
Glad you found our community discussion board. I’ll try to help as best as I can.

Hey again Jordan,
I should have dropped this Youtube link here in my last post.
Get Windsurfing is a fantastic instructional resource. I came across it a few years ago as I began to teach my son to windsurf. Heck I still watch the fast tack video and duck jibe vids. I believe Phil is a great instructor and uses great cam angles and explains t…[Read more]

Hi Jordan,
Awesome to hear you are eager to get going. I will piggy back on what Eric said above…..we have a stoked and growing community of wind warriors in our area. Eric lives in Buffalo, but we see him often as he chases good wind and great riding.
I would agree that a 118 liter board will be a struggle to learn on as a beginner. …[Read more]

Thanks for this post Bob. But the community needs to know the full story, and your important part.
