Frank!
This information is fantastic. Thanks for taking the time to get it all down in print. I may have to create a spot for it on the launch site page.

Great post Scott.
I’m thankful for all the assistance I got from the crew while figuring out some technical difficulties with mounting the foil to the board. This is what happens when a standard is not followed as a standard. Deep Tuttle screw holes should line up, right?
Some filing and drilling with Art and Don and I eventually got my f…[Read more]

Hi Tom,
I received and replied your e mail on this as well. Thanks for getting a hold of us. Check this recent post (less than two weeks ago) from Bob regarding Southwick which is more or less Henderson Harbor (according to Google). I have never been there, but it looks like waves for days…[Read more]

I know some guys have been making Hamburg plans based on your forecast. I’m hoping for a Long Pond session after work.

Magazine quality write-up in the digital age Bob. Thanks for this. Stellar photo.
Keep em coming when you have the time. If I can’t wake up to wind every day, at least I can rely on my friends to give me something to look forward to that is wind related.

Frank-
We are all better for your efforts in coming to Seneca to meet up with the larger community. I’m not trying to slight the other members of the Syracuse community either. If going to the other launches is easy, familiar and convienient that totally makes sense. Your clan has represented the sport you love for a long time.
When I met yo…[Read more]

Love the action on this thread!!!
As a result of everything seemingly coming together for us, Fred Bertram has introduced himself to the group. Fred is a long time windsurfer who couldn’t be on the water this year, so in his own words, he has chosen to do the next best thing and take photos of the action.
Fred is an extremely talented…[Read more]

It was a day worth skipping out of work for. Sunny, windy, warm……
I started out on the visitor center side with (Technical) Ted and (Shortboard) Joe on windsurfers, and Chris J. and Andrew on kites. The kite boys were “refreshing” with a mid session toast but would hit the water again.
The meter was showing wind speeds worth car speeding f…[Read more]

A quick update to this……
Hopefully you have not been bothered too much by the spam infiltrating the forum page. I have been trying a few different things to try to limit spam bots from registering for the forum and then posting rubbish. It has been greatly reduced lately thanks to a few plugins I have found. It is a tricky balance be…[Read more]

I’m not sure if this vid was done by a kiter or not, but it is nicely edited and has good visuals.

The best part was having favorable conditions to rip down in close to the Visitors Center and doing some screaming jibes in front of the I Love NY sculpture. Then head upwind and do the same along the promenade near the Ramada.
I neglected to mention some more of the cast of characters. Suan and Vlad were up from the southern reaches of the f…[Read more]

I had a marginal session saved by a nice 60 minute jump in the wind. I arrived late to a full parking area at the visitors center (which is now a hopping joint for the general public), and it looked like my 7.5 was the only thing that would get me on the water. I rigged up and hit the water, but for an hour had a 50:50 planing to non-planing s…[Read more]

Isaac and I both did huge catapults the las two days at Seneca. I was going about 28mph according to my Apple Watch app and then nailed what looked like a thick plastic car bumper. No damage to me or my gear thank goodness!

Hi Steve,
I heard this news as well, and it heartbreaking. Details are still uncertain on what may have happened, but the boarder we lost yesterday is said to be a talented, dear, and long time member of the Buffalo wind sport scene. Conditions were not extreme, and he was not alone at Hamburg Town Park.

Wow!!!
That is unbelievable. If and when the wind returns we are going to need to watch for debris I am sure. I’m wondering how much extra nutrient loading occurred that might impact the possibility of Blue Green Algae if the sun and heat continue far into the late summer and fall. Seneca is a big deep lake, but you never know.
