Howdy RWS Forum users.
We’ve clearly been having an issue with false registrations and then fake posts on the forum. Apologies! I am trying a few different things, so bear with me, and let me know if you run into any issues.
Thanks.

A heck of a great day on the water! When I arrived around noon, Art was on his wind foil, and Scott was slogging on a 7.5. When I left, with wind a sailors still on the water, my 5.2 and 95L was still working.
I have sailed more with Bill and Keith already this year than all of last year. Scott and Art were the early birds of course…the wi…[Read more]

Eric, I think I may have been there that day. Marty was riding one of the beautiful Hot Sails Maui “Maplefreak” sails that Windsurf Canada did a group buy on. He also bought/sold a used board that day too.
He was duck jibing on the inside all day long. Marty is the Windmil guy right? His blog or website I believe.
I had duck jibed my 6.6 ve…[Read more]

Great post Scott. I was delayed in doing a post and was glad to find this great one.
I was formulating a title in my head before the session was even over. I was going to go with:
Durand 7.6.18. The Return of Keith…….and Ken, and Bill, and Pete W.
As Scott mentioned, it was awesome to arrive and have Keith already on the water and ha…[Read more]

Yo Isaac!
I think I am going to follow Eric’s advice…..until a wind meter tells me otherwise. If he’s thinking to stay overnight in Geneva then it’s likely a sure thing for Seneca. The earlier we go the longer we will sail rain free I am hoping.
I’m free Thursday too, so if it’s off to Hamburg, or my first trip out to East Bay Rd. in a c…[Read more]

Nice Scott!
You should write for Outside Magazine, or Windsurfing Now (windsurfing sesh report), and AAA (location, accommodation, attractions report). Oldest Mini Golf in the U.S.A., who knew?
Eric, Durand can be tricky though if the wind has too much West in it. The above was a super nuker, and their was still a wind shadow. The water do…[Read more]

Here is an E Bay vid from back in 2009. You’ll recognize Jim King in there. Later on in the vid Joe H. makes a friendly appearance in the GoPro vid.

Hey Eric.
East Bay (or EBay) is immediately East of Chimney Bluffs. Here is the link to the very basic launch info on that page of the website.
In the pic on that page, you can see the dead end road. That pic is about 5 years old. Over the time we have been sailing there we have witnessed them mo…[Read more]

This past weekend I had my first opportunity to windsurf with my new Apple Watch. I was psyched to get the watch and put its GPS and cellular connectivity (to my phone) a go.
In addition to the watch, I downloaded a free app developed by a water sport enthusiast called Waterspeed. It has pay features, but I don’t currently have an interest. Th…[Read more]

So what have you been sailing on typically? Sizes, volume, etc…..
Do you have the time to get to the water when it is windy around here, or are you more a person who plans on sailing on a certain day no matter what the wind is doing. That would affect what may be the best rig for you to get into. The winds are pretty light around here much o…[Read more]

It had been nearly a month since the wind and my schedule lined up to get me on the water. I have to give props to Eric. M (out of B’lo) for tuning me in to the forecast. RWS Groupme seems to be working to keep all in the loop too. I also appreciated some post session feedback from Isaac B. about where teh wind was and wasn’t.

Hey Max,
We do have one retailer in the Rochester area, Canandaigua Sailboarding. It is owned by Steve Howie who was once a nationally ranked and competitive racer. He knows his stuff, and he knows his lake pretty well. He has some good brands too.
Curtis Sport Connection in Buffalo is also an option. Doug Cur…[Read more]

Darn Tree! Scotty lofted a few nice floaty jumps as things ramped up.
Isaac is retro cool. He held it down the most when it got super nuclear. Some nice jumps (see the photo gallery page). That beauty MW5 was rigged super ugly.
Doug ripping in a “lull”. Made the jibe after this one.
Not a crash! Seriously. I was in the water riding…[Read more]
