I recently had 5 days of kiting in Biscayne Bay, Tampa Bay and the keys. Every place I kited had the same conditions: A sandbar 1/4 to 1/2 mile offshore with onshore wind that made for really flat water with mile long reaches. Advise you chickenloop to bouy farthest from shore. Near bouy is not as well anchored, you could end up chasing your kite. Probably catch it unless its really windy 🙂 There are no carabiners on the bouys, bring your own.

Good point about the snow probability. I have a cousin that is interested in getting a kitewing, let me know if there are any for sale that you know of.

I read a review of municipal waste incineration that basically said more air pollutants like dioxin would be released due to the high plastic content of garbage. So until we can give up our love of plastic packaging this does seem like a stupid idea.

Installed main buoy Labor Day and setting out to put in 2nd buoy today. Use at your own risk, you need advanced kite skills to solo launch on the pond. Best Waroo 5 strut kite is a good first kite for a beginner on a budget. No one pump and long bridles are a pain but this kite is in great condition for a 2007 kite because it sat unused for many years.

The liquid Force NRG is a 4 strut kite with one pump inflation. It is designed for aggressive riders that want to boost big. It is a powerful kite that needs a strong rider a lot younger than me. Kite has only been used ~5times.
