In the lake’s defense, I did pretty much drink the whole thing. But I agree with Doug, the water looked clean and tasted great. Could be we are all experiencing withdrawl symptoms from an awesome session!
All kidding aside, water quality is something we should all be concerned about. These lakes are treasure, and we need to take care of them.

The one time a year I go golfing and it had to be last Saturday, so I missed the Seneca party.
We did manage to catch the NW flow off the back of the front at Sodus on Sunday. Looked very promising when we arrived at about 10:30am and Gus was getting yanked out of the footstraps on his 5.5m. However, the wind steadily dropped all day, which m…[Read more]

Yes, you too can make your very own kite line camera mount. All you need is some garden hose, an old cutting board, and a few pieces of hardwood. Oh, and a few zip ties. Here is a pic of the mount I made last weekend, with the GoPro attached:
The wooden dowel was cut from an old drumstick, and is used as a jamb cleat on the starboard ce…[Read more]

The barrier beach looks to be 1000′ long, extending from the current point across most of the opening to the lake.

Gus and I pulled off a last minute Hatteras trip April 15-18, and Hatteras did not disappoint. I was glad Gus had extra kites, because every kite I own was too big, and I had to ride on his old 7m Turbo3. I’m sure many of you saw the forecast, which looked like this for 5 straight days:
Yes, that blue dot was me 🙂 I brought the GoPro th…[Read more]
